This course, ‘Safe Boarding at Sea,’ is designed for professionals who transfer from shore to vessel to conduct inspections, maintenance, repairs, and other essential onboard services.

The aims of the course are to give, by theoretical and practical training, participants the ability to act safely and responsibly and to take the correct preventive actions in all aspects of offshore operations.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded a diploma stating the main objectives achieved.

You must be 18 years old to participate in the course.

We prioritize your safety, and some parts of the training includes activities that are physically demanding and potentially stressful. To ensure your well-being and ability to fully participate, all participants requires to complete a medical self-assessment before engaging in practical activities.

  • Knowledge of hazards and symptoms related to hypothermia and drowning
  • Understanding of emergency procedures and safety on vessels
  • Understanding of the advantages and limitations of various Life-Saving Appliances
  • First aid treatment of “Man Overboard” (MOB)
  • Evacuation from vessel to water using evacuation equipment
  • Use of life rafts
  • Helicopter rescue from water
  • How to act in water for best chance for survival
  • Climbing the pilot ladder
  • Safe transfer from vessel to boat (backwards)

The course takes place on board at our modern training facilities for maritime safety in Frihamnen, Stockholm. The course includes both theoretical and practical components.

The course is NOT preceded by digital pre-studies.

We recommend that participants bring:
Please note that parts of the training will take place outdoors. Bring durable clothing and shoes suitable for the weather. The practical training sessions require waterproof shoes.
Bring an extra change of clothes!

Good to know:

  • Showers and changing rooms are available.
  • All protective equipment will be provided by us.
  • Lunch as well as morning and afternoon refreshments are included in the course fee.

For a passing grade, participants must attend all theoretical and practical sessions and achieve a passing grade in each.

Jag kommer med bil, var kan jag parkera?

Det finns betalparkering på fler platser i Frihamnen, bara några minuters promenad från Stockholm Training Port. Vi rekommenderar parkering vid Ica Kvantum Värtan. Kostnad per timme är 25 kr (eller 110 kr/dygn) och det går bra att betala via biljettautomat eller app.

Parkering rekommenderar vi på betalparkeringen vid Ica Kvantum Värtan. Ta sedan en promenad mot vattnet så ser du oss på höger sida längs med kajen!
